Measurements and Mounting

We measure each window in your project and discuss whether an inside or outside mount will suit it. Inside mounts need adequate depth and clearance within the frame. Outside mounts need enough space for the brackets and the overlap you want. We follow the selected product’s measurement requirements and handle the order specifications.

Materials and Slat Sizes

Material selection is the other major decision. Wood blinds offer a warm, natural look that works well in craftsman and traditional Austin homes. Faux wood blinds are more resistant to humidity and warping, which makes them a better choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and Austin's humid summers.

Aluminum blinds are durable and practical for offices and utility spaces. Fabric and soft blinds offer a softer look for bedrooms and living rooms. Slat width also affects the appearance. For outside mounts, the brackets are typically anchored into the wall studs or window casing for a secure hold. After mounting, the installer checks that the blind raises and lowers smoothly, that the slats tilt fully in both directions, and that the bottom rail is level.

A final walkthrough confirms everything is working before the installer leaves.
