Choose an Inside or Outside Mount

Start by deciding whether you prefer an inside or outside mount. An inside mount sits within the window opening and leaves the trim visible. An outside mount sits above or outside the opening and can provide more overlap. Measuring for an Inside Mount

For an inside mount, record the width at the top, middle and bottom of the opening, then measure the height at several points. Keep all of these measurements and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific shade.
